For the second year in a row, the Wichita State women’s basketball team will open and close conference play with rival Missouri State. The Shockers begin the Missouri Valley Conference slate on Sun., Jan. 5 in Springfield, Mo. and conclude the regular season schedule at home on Sun., March 9.
“The Valley schedule will again be challenging,” head coach Jody Adams said. “We are excited to welcome Loyola to the league and also to again have multiple games televised on MVC-TV.”
Wichita State begins the MVC season with three-straight road games before coming home on Sat., Jan. 18 against Northern Iowa. The Shockers will then host Drake on Monday, Jan. 20 for a special Martin Luther King, Jr. Day tipoff at 3:30 p.m. That game will be televised as part of the MVC-TV package.
The Shockers return to the road before settling in for four-consecutive home games between Fri., Jan. 31 and Sun., Feb. 9. The final game of the homestand features the Valley’s newest member, Loyola.
The Valley will again televise the Shockers on Fri., Feb. 21 vs. Illinois State in a rematch of last year’s MVC Tournament final. It will be the third-straight year the Illinois State-Wichita State game at Koch Arena has been televised.
Wichita State will attempt to defend its MVC Tournament Championship at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo., on March 13-16.
