The tenth-ranked Hutchinson CC Blue Dragons could not close a 14-10 deficit in the 2nd quarter, as #12 Navarro, TX stretched the lead in the second half for a 54-34 win in Corsicanna, TX.

Coming out the half down 27-13, the Blue Dragons' Kenny Flowers returned a fumble 50 yards for a touchdown making it a 27-20 Navarro lead. The teams traded touchdowns on their next drives in the third quarter, but former Cincinnati commit Demetrius Alston was injured and carried off the field after going down in the trenches on the defensive line.

That injury put the defense on its heels, and Navarro took advantage, creating a 41-27 lead after a Bulldog touchdown pass from Stump Godfrey. Hutchinson answered with a score from Terrell Lane on a 19 yard run at the 9:33 mark in the 4th quarter, cutting the deficit back to 7.

Navarro responded with 5 minutes to play with an 18 yard touchdown run and followed it up with the clinching TD at the 2:00 mark.

Hutchinson takes a 1-1 record into Garden City to play the Broncbusters September 8th.
