May 20, 2012 - By virtue of its two wins over Missouri this weekend and Kansas State’s loss to Texas Tech on Saturday, the Kansas Jayhawks clinched the No. 7 seed at the Big 12 Baseball Championship and will face second-seeded Texas A&M (41-14, 16-8 in Big 12) at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The NCAA Subcommittee for Legislative Relief said Wednesday it has denied Kansas sophomore wide receiver Justin McCay’s eligibility waiver request appeal. With the denial by the subcommittee, McCay will have to sit out the 2012 season and will be eligible to compete for the Jayhawks in 2013 as a junior.
