Collin Klein will return to Kansas State as a member of Bill Snyder's coaching staff, according to a report released by GoPowercat.com Wednesday.
Klein told GoPowercat.com that he agreed to terms with Snyder but had not signed any paperwork. He expects to fill multiple roles with the staff, he told the website, but assumes he will work as an offensive assistant for quality control or in a similar position.
Klein was a finalist for the 2012 Heisman when he led Kansas State to the Fiesta Bowl but did not stick with the Houston Texans of the NFL or Montreal Allouettes of the CFL when given a chance at the professional level.
Montreal released him over the past weekend and Klein told GoPowercat.com that the release spurred the conversation with Snyder which now leads him back to the sidelines in Manhattan.
Klein ranks 6th in school history in passing yards and 2nd in rushing yards among quarterbacks.
