The search is on for the next basketball coach at Kansas State. At least, that's the assumption.
Athletic director John Currie vowed to conduct the search for
Frank Martin's replacement in complete secrecy, leaving just about
everyone outside a small circle of advisors to guess not only on
who might be considered but also when a hiring will ultimately take
place.
That hasn't stopped the rumor mill from churning out names.
Among those that make the most sense are Illinois State coach Tim
Jankovich, Colorado coach Tad Boyle, Wichita State coach Gregg
Marshall, Oklahoma assistant Steve Henson and associate head coach Brad Underwood.
Currie has said he has "no predetermined parameters" for the
search. He would only say that he's searching for a man of
"integrity" to take over a program many believed was on the rise.
