1. since these suits are not standard issue, there are probably more in public use by kids and hunters than in the Corps, so are more of a threat to the public's safety 2. the kids may not have machine guns, but they may/do have or can be exposed to candles, bonfires, fireplaces, etc. that can do as much if not more damage to the child. Hunters would have cigarettes, campfires, etc. Also remember that the Marine "dropped and rolled" and had others around to assist - a child may not have the knowledge to do such an action or might not have anyone around to assist..... 3. at the very least, suits sold to the public should be labeled as flammable (or not flame retardant) in order to protect the public from a hazard that can not only affect the wearer, but also those around them as well as property

...and I suppose, these kids that are getting the suit for halloween, also are getting a machine gun with blanks or a flame thrower, or something else that might throw a spark and catch it on fire? come on, get real!

Ghillie suits are not standard issue in the Marines...They are made as part as your indoc process into a STA or SSP platoon. Typically they are not untilized in normal infantry operations as was depicted in this story. Your not going to be in a fighting hole with a ghillie suit on firing a machine gun.

I'd be worried about soldiers with PTSD that have flashbacks. The war is making to many of my brothers not right in the head. The wrong person seeing one of the kids in a suit could bring back memories. They need to take it of the market for kids. Thats what Im worried about.

"Five years and 13 surgeries later, he's no longer a Marine." ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE! A Marine never loses that title... no matter what happens to them! Please correct this disrespectful comment!

did the costumes come from gilliesuits.com like the marine issue? or from china where there dont seem to be any safety concerns at all.
