Water has been restored to Wichita Heights High School and Stucky Middle School after a water main break.

The break left Heights and Stucky Middle School without water but classes are still in session.

According to the school district, bottled water has been brought in for the students to drink. Extra water has also arrived for toilets, although some restrooms at Heights have been closed.

Lunch will be brought in. Hand sanitizer has also been made available to staff and students.

There are approximately 1,600 students who attend Heights, and about 650 at Stucky.

A leak was discovered Thursday afternoon near 45th Street North and Hillside, and crews repaired it quickly but found another break overnight.

According to the city, that main was installed in 1985 and they're unsure why it already fractured. The outage is affecting approximately 350 residents.

The city expects to have the main repaired sometime Friday afternoon.

We'll continue to track the story. Check back for updates.
