Tip Helps Newton Police Find Stolen School Computers

A tip called in after a KAKE News report helped Newton Police recover tens of thousands of dollars in stolen school computers.

Police said they arrested three teenagers in connection with the theft from Chisholm Middle School in July. Three teens were seen on surveillance cameras inside the school. They are accused of stealing $60,000 in computers.

The case was featured on KAKE's Crimetracker report Tuesday. Police received a tip shortly after the report aired. The tip led officers to the suspects.

Police recovered most of the computers. They will be returned to the school.
