The suspect was taken into custody shortly before 9:30, but other details were not immediately available. It's unclear if he was armed.
KAKE News will continue to track the story and post other information as it becomes available.
Three southwest Wichita schools are on lockdown as police officers check the reports of a possible armed suspect in a nearby neighborhood.
Tuesday morning, someone called 911 saying a man had a gun in a neighborhood near Pawnee and Seneca.
Several Wichita police officers are searching the area and as a precaution, they've locked down three nearby schools: Truesdell Middle School, as well as Woodman and Stanley Elementary Schools.
Again, this is a precautionary lockdown and there is no current activity at any of the schools.
Check back for updates.
