Police have identified the suspect in a shooting attack at a California Christian college as a 43-year-old Oakland man.

Police Chief Howard Jordan said Monday that One L. Goh is in custody after surrendering at a shopping center about an hour after the shooting at Oikos University on Monday morning.

Authorities say he was a former student at the Christian school.

Seven people were killed, and three other injured when a gunman opened fire into classrooms.

A suspect has been detained in a shooting attack at an Oakland Christian university that sources said has killed at least five people.

Law enforcement sources close to the investigation told The Associated Press that at least five people have died after the Monday morning shooting at Oikos University.

Meanwhile, police say a suspect has been detained in the attack. Officer Johnna Watson did not give any other details about the arrest.

Police have confirmed that there are fatalities in a shooting at an Oakland Christian university that also left at least four people wounded.

Police spokeswoman Johnna Watson confirmed the deaths Monday at Oikos University, but could not say how many.

Officials at a nearby hospital say they're treating four people from the shooting.

Authorities are looking for the suspect, described at a Korean man in his 40s with a heavy build and wearing khaki clothing.
