For the first time in years there is no online enrollment at Wichita Public Schools. That created some work stations and lines at area schools.
Dena Kelly and her husband have been at McClean Elementary for about an hour, all to enroll one of their kids in school.
Her other two children attend other schools in the district, so this is stop number two for the day.
"We've been here maybe an hour. Ya, an hour. We're almost done. We're on the last station," said Kelly.
Typically parents sign their kids up at home but could not this year.
The school district has a new computer program.
Next year the district plans to make enrollment online again, but this year it's all in person.
Parents can access some of the forms online. School officials strongly recommend filling out forms before coming to enrollment, since some people have reported waiting in line for 1.5 hours.
Enrollment lasts until Thursday, August 1st. Wednesday and Thursday hours are noon to 7 P.M.
