Investigators have released new information in the accident that left 19-year-old Paul Ziegler dead.
Ziegler, a sophomore at McPherson College, was riding his bicycle southbound on 18th Street a few miles southeast of McPherson Sunday afternoon when he was hit by a truck driving the other direction.
The McPherson County Sheriff's Office said the 17-year-old driver from McPherson took his eyes off the road to look at something in the front seat of his pick-up, veered left-of-center and struck Ziegler.
Ziegler was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's unclear if any charges will be filed, but sheriff's deputies said there is no evidence that drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.
The case remains under investigation.

A McPherson College student is dead after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle Sunday.
According to a news release sent by the school, sophomore Paul Ziegler of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania was struck and killed just south of McPherson at about 1 p.m. Sunday.
"Paul was an outstanding member of our campus community," said McPherson College President Michael Schneider. "So many love and respect him. I can't express how devastated we are upon learning of his death."
Ziegler was a member of the McPherson College Tennis Team and worked in the sports information office keeping statistics.
Those wishing to show support can drop off cards at designated locations around campus including Miller Library and Mohler Hall.
Ziegler's family has expressed interest in holding a memorial service in McPherson, but specific plans are pending.
Law enforcement officials have not yet released information on the accident.
