Anthony Physical Education instructor Jason Busche has been awarded the Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year. Busche was honored November 3 at the Kansas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance annual awards banquet in Hays, Kansas.
Each year, KAHPERD recognizes outstanding educators for meritorious service in the fields of Health, Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. The organization advocates for the health and fitness of Kansas children and youth and is the leading support organization for physical activity related fields.
Busche is the Physical Education Instructor at Anthony Elementary School. His physical education program practices the National Association for Sport and Physical Education standards and best practices on a daily basis, whether working on sports skills or educating students to be lifetime participants in physical activity.
Mr. Busche is known for writing and receiving grants to procure equipment and funds to improve his physical education curriculum. Over the years, his students have greatly benefited from cutting edge, popular, and fun activities that excite and engage students.
"Mr. Busche is a visionary with a natural talent for making physical fitness fun and exciting. Investing in this type of teacher, program planner, and innovative thinker is an investment that will ripple, thus benefiting the entire physical education profession," said Anthony Elementary School Principal Robert Reed.
