Sedgwick County is now able to issue Friends University license plates.

Drivers who wish to display the Friends University plate on their vehicle must first contact the university, which will issue a Friends University Alumni Association Certificate. The vehicle owner can then visit any Sedgwick County tag office with his/her current license plate, registration, proof of insurance and the alumni certificate. The issuance price for the new plate is $80.50. The cost includes $40 for a county specialty plate fee, $30 to benefit scholarships, $5 county transaction fee, $5 educational institution plate fee and $0.50 reflectorized plate fee.

After initial issuance, standard vehicle renewal fees will apply based on the specific vehicle. A current alumni certificate is required for annual tag renewals.
