Charges have been filed against an El Dorado High School student who allegedly brought a gun to school earlier this week.
On Monday, school officials received a report that a student on campus had a gun. The student was taken into custody and a gun was recovered. No students or staff had been threatened.
The student, whose name has not been released, was charged Thursday with criminal use of a firearm and defacing ID markers on a firearm.
He is currently being held at a juvenile detention facility. He is expected in court Friday afternoon to determine whether he will be released to his parents, or continue to be detained.
