Baker University's newly renovated science and mathematics building should be ready for use by next summer.
The university in Baldwin City is building an addition and making other improvements to Mulvane Hall.
Jeremy Portlock, director of the physical plant at Baker, says if the weather cooperates, students should be able to use the building when fall classes start on Aug. 22.
An anonymous couple donated $3.5 million to support the $10.3 million project. It was the largest gift in the university's history.
The donors asked that the new complex be named for Ivan L. Boyd, a Baker faculty member from 1941 to 1972.
