The Andover Public Schools USD 385 board of education has chosen a new superintendent.
Last night, the board voted unanimously to select Greg Rasmussen as the next superintendent. He was one of three finalists interviewed last week.
Rasmussen has been an educator since 1982, serving as an elementary school teacher, principal and state and district level administrator.
He worked for Wichita USD 259 over the past nine years, first as Executive Director of Instructional Technology then as Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education. Over the last three years, he was superintendent in Middleton, Ohio.
"We welcome Greg back to Kansas as he assumes the superintendent position with Andover Public Schools," said Board of Education President Roger Elliott. "He offers the right mix of educational experience spanning 25 years and will be remembered for his past leadership roles with USD 259 and area organizations."
His start date has not yet been announced.
