A woman who gained national fame in 2007 for graduating from Fort Hays State University at the age of 95 is about to top that accomplishment.

Nola Ochs (Oaks) will receive a master's degree from Fort Hays on Saturday — at the age of 98.

The Jetmore native became the world's oldest graduate in 2007. That record was broken last year by a 96-year-old man in Taiwan, but Ochs was already on the way to reclaiming the honor.

The Hays Daily News reports that Ochs earned a master's in liberal studies with a history concentration.

And she says she's not done. Ochs says she intends to apply for a graduate teaching assistantship in the spring 2011 semester in the history department. She'll be working on her master's in history.
