After five years, the Pawnee Heights and Hanston school districts are dissolving a cooperative agreement.
The decision comes after voters in the two districts in April rejected a proposal to consolidate the districts. The cooperative agreement will end June 30.
Pawnee Heights, which operated an elementary and high school, will offer a kindergarten-through-12th grade system next school year.
The Hanston Board of Education, which ran the junior high, met Thursday night with Jetmore school district authorities to work on a cooperative agreement.
Pawnee Heights board president Kevin Milch says the district would probably close the elementary school in Burdett and combine all the district's 147 students into one school in Rozel.
