McPherson Construction Team Visits Kansas Capitol

The national champion Residential Construction Management Team from McPherson High School went to the Kansas Capitol on March 23rd by invitation of Rep. Janice Pauls of Hutchinson, to be recognized for their 1st place finish at Las Vegas. The team competed during the International Builders Show that was held in Las Vegas on January 18-22.

Governor Mark Parkinson invited the team into his office for a photo and a debriefing about the competition. During the morning session of the Kansas House, the team was recognized on the floor with a resolution in their name that was co-sponsored by Rep. Clark Schultz of Lindsborg and Rep. Janice Pauls of Hutchinson. The team coach, Arlan Penner, is from Pauls’ district in Hutchinson. During the afternoon session of the Kansas Senate, Senator Jay Emler of Lindsborg, sponsored a resolution on the Senate floor to recognize the team.

The team members are Preston Mossman, Joel Piper, Jacob Reese, Max Archer and Adam Porter. The team coaches are Arlan Penner and Don Willits.
