The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has two speaking engagements this week in Kansas.
Adm. Mike Mullen will deliver a Landon Lecture on Wednesday at Kansas State University in Manhattan. He follows National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair, who gave a Landon Lecture last week about the nation's security efforts.
On Thursday, Mullen will address more than 1,000 officers studying at the Army's Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth.
Mullen is the top uniformed officer in the United States and advises the president on military affairs.
