The embattled director of information systems and services at Washburn University has resigned.
The university said Wednesday that Michael Gunter cited personal reasons in submitting his resignation. And the Topeka university said in a news release that Gunter made significant contributions to the school's computing resources.
Faculty members were reportedly growing frustrated with Gunter. In April, the Faculty Senate passed a vote of no confidence in Gunter.
The faculty's concerns included what they described as Gunter's lack of communication when approached with questions and his refusal to permit public access computers in Mabee Library.
