The Kansas State Board of Education has approved requests that would allow four school districts to consolidate into two districts.
The board on Tuesday approved a consolidation request from the Claflin school district and the Lorraine district. The other approved request was from Hanston and Pawnee Heights school districts.
Both consolidations must still be approved by voters in the districts. Those votes will be April 6.
The board also approved an agreement to transfer 300 square miles of land from Russell County school district to the Sylvan Grove district in Lincoln County.
