Upset parents in Goddard are now taking action. The Goddard school board decided to let juvenile offenders attend school at Eishenhower Middle School. They will share the building with Goddard school kids.

Some parents are hopping mad, they say their kids have no business going to school with troubled youth from King’s Camp, which is a few miles away.

The parents are getting a recall petition underway to throw out the school board. But getting a recall petition is not easy.

Election Commissioner, Marilyn Chapman says you have to file official grounds for a recall with her office, and get a recall committee put together plus get the recall certified with her office.

Once that is done supporters can go door to door to get signatures. The signatures petition should be received within 90 days.

But some parents say they have enough support and that if it takes a recall petition they will go for it.

The School Board President, Ray Staat says the recall is unfortunate, but the board made the decision that had to be made. He points to an independent study that shows the boys from King’s Camp should be educated at the public school.
