Three Kansas programs have been awarded grants totaling $437,000 from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Two of the recipients are teacher institutes at the University of Kansas, including one that focuses on the history and cultural implications of World War I.

The third grant goes to the Kansas Humanities Council to support a range of activities, including a speaker’s bureau, book and film discussions and grants for community projects.
