More School Security Scares In Kansas

October 13--A week of school security concerns continued today in Kansas. Students at Valley Center High School were evacuated for a short time today, after a suspicious device was discovered. The device turned out to be a smoke bomb, that was taken to the school by a sophomore. "At first a lot of people were worried, really scared of what was going on. But now that everyone knows that there's no real threat then everyone's calmed down and is ready to get back to class", said Valley Center student Tyler Lohmann.

A threat also led to schools being put on lockdown in Elk County. Someone hacked into the district's computer, and placed a threat on the school calendar. Although administrators thought it was a prank, police officers did a security sweep of the schools, and metal detectors were brought on campus.
