Due to the state's financial situation, Wichita Public School Superintendent Martin Libhart has implemented a hiring freeze for the 2008-2009 school year.
This hiring freeze will be effective by the end of today and continue until further notice. This hiring freeze does not apply at this time to the work that is underway to hire for the 2009-10 school year.
All vacancies will be frozen with the exception of certified special education positions. No interviews will be conducted on positions currently posted, and no new vacancies will be listed. This freeze includes any internal transfers.
