The second of three individuals selected as presidential finalists for Kansas State University will visit Manhattan and the
KSU campus next week.
The second finalist, Dr. Steve Ballard, and his wife, Nancy, will meet
with campus and community groups on Thursday, January 22 and Friday, January 23.
Dr. Ballard is currently the Chancellor of East Carolina
University; a position he has held since 2004. He previously served as
the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University
of Missouri-Kansas City, as the Vice Provost for Research and Dean of
the Graduate College at Bowling Green State University, and on the
faculty of the University of Maine and the University of Oklahoma. Dr.
Ballard earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Ohio State University
and a B.A. in History from the University of Arizona.
“The K-State Presidential Search Committee is certainly looking
forward to having Steve and his wife Nancy on campus and in the
Manhattan community next week,” said Nelson Galle of Manhattan,
former-Regent and Chair of the KSU Presidential Search Committee.
The first presidential finalist visited KSU on January 15 and 16; the
