Wichita Student Wins $44,000 Scholarship

Timothy Wiesner, a senior at Trinity Academy in Wichita, is the winner of Wichita State University's 2009-2010 Clay Barton Scholarship in Business.

The announcement was made today by WSU President Don Beggs.

Wiesner will receive $11,000 a year for four years to attend WSU as a business major. The $44,000 Barton scholarship is the biggest business scholarship in the state.

Wiesner is the son of Tim and Marilee Wiesner of Wichita. He plans to study entrepreneurship at WSU.

At Trinity Academy, Wiesner is involved in the Student Council as president. Last year he was junior class president. Wiesner has been in choir all four years of high school and has also participated in forensics and debate.
