Wichita community members are encouraged to be instrumental in helping find
the Wichita Public Schools' new superintendent.
Parents and community members are invited to attend one of five public forums to provide input on the next superintendent. The Board of Education consultant firm for the superintendent search, Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, Ltd., will conduct the forums to gather feedback and develop a leadership profile that will be used in the superintendent search.
Wednesday, November 12
Community forum, 6 p.m. North High School Lecture Hall, 1437 N. Rochester
Thursday, November 13
Parents' forum, 6 p.m., North High School Lecture Hall, 1437 N. Rochester
Students' forum, 6 p.m., North High School cafeteria, 1437 N. Rochester
Friday, November 14
Parents'/Community forum, 10 a.m., Gordon Parks Academy, 2201 E. 25th St.
Spanish-language Parents'/Community forum, 10 a.m., Gordon Parks Academy,
2201 E. 25th St. North. An interpreter will be present.
After receiving feedback from the groups, the firm will begin searching for
candidates that meet the criteria that has been established.
The BOE tentatively plans to interview superintendent candidates in February
and have a superintendent named in March.
