Rose Hill Superintendent Randall Evans passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning. Before coming to Rose Hill less than a year ago, Evans was the superintendent in Hoisington.

Rose Hill High School Principal Randal Chickadonz is serving as interim superintendent. He says Evans strived to spread his passion for education. Evans helped establish education foundations in both Hoisington and Rose Hill.

Evans served as superintendent a Hoisington for more than twenty years. He was a critical part of the cleanup and reconstruction after a tornado destroyed the school in 2001.

Funeral services for Evans will be held this Thursday. Rose Hill Schools will be closed that day.
