Salina Students Hospitalized After Taking Medication

Two Salina middle school students were taken for medical treatment after police said they took pain and sleeping medications.

One of the two girls became ill shortly after being dropped off at South Middle School this morning. Police said the girl had taken some pain medication not prescribed to her. The girl told officers she took the medication from her home.

A short time later, a second female student became ill. She told officers she had taken pain and sleepign medication.

Both girls were taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment.
