What are the most important qualities needed to lead Wichita Schools? That's what administrators want to know from the public.

The Wichita School District have developed an online survey to help guide the school board's selection of the next superintendent. Dr. Winston Brooks left Wichita earlier this year to take a similar position in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

To take the survey, click on the link below.

Denise Wren is the best canidate out there. She is an amazing women that takes great pride in making a change and improving education. I was fortunate to have her as a Principle at North. She took great pride in changing that school. Ms. Wren was the best thing that ever happened to North, not only the school but the students and parents as well. She takes pride in forming a personal relationship with students and parents. I can say she probably knew 80% of the students on a first name basis. She is amazing. Some day I wish I could be half the women she is!!

ciizen, the reason they have such a hard time fin=ding leaders is that they want a figurehead, someone who will do as they say, not lead or try new things, only what the board wants, read the survey, its right there.

There are surely good candidates in the public school system now. How about Denise Wren?

Why do Wichita entities--the city & USD 259--have such a hard time finding leaders? I don't understand the need for the endless committees and nationwide searches. Surely a qualified candidate can be found within or close to the organization and candidates for the job should go through the application process like other employees.

if you take the survay, they are looking for someone that will do as their told. why hire a superintendant if the board wants someone to do as their told?
