Classes at Kansas State University's Cardwell Hall will be back in session Friday after repairs to tornado damage were completed.

Safety officials gave permission to reopen the building after air quality tests were performed.

Workers replaced parts of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system.

The university gave early estimates of $27 million in damage from the tornado. But officials expect that figure to grow as buildings are fully inspected.
