According to a homeowner, a brawl broke out around 1 a.m. Saturday. His son, who goes to Northwest High School, says he was having a few friends over when two guys from East High School show up at the door.
The Northwest student says he wouldn’t let the East students in, so the East students left but came back with nine more East students.
When they weren’t allowed in the house again, the Northwest student says the East students started throwing bricks through the back windows of the house, then took a baseball bat and broke out the windows in four cars parked in the driveway.
Police tell us they don’t believe this is a case of school rivalry, but merely some kids who got out of control when they weren’t allowed into a private party.
Right now, investigators are reviewing a list of the names of the East High students accused in the case and tell us some of the students could face battery and even felony vandalism charges.
Wichita Public Schools say since the incident didn’t happen on school property or during school hours, they aren’t involved.
The student who lives at the home got punched in the face and was taken to the hospital where he received four stitches. No one was seriously injured.
