The school district says a bus driver went too far after a kid’s complaint.
Two Robinson Middle School students say they were sprayed down by Lysol by their 10-year veteran bus driver while on the way to school.
The district and the bus company, Durham School Services, say the provocation is no excuse.
Both groups launch investigations. A Durham spokesperson says the driver admitted spraying the kids. Durham fired him. Those at Robinson say he should have known better. Bus drivers and aides find the news hard to believe.
“We’re always having safety meetings,” said Shannon Sherdahl, a bus driver’s aide.
The parents of the children involved have hired an attorney who plans to launch his own investigation.
