A new school is going up in Oaklawn, thanks to a hefty donation from a good samaritan.

TOP School, as it will be called, will provide low cost yet quality daycare and preschool for needy families in the Oaklawn/Sunview community.

On Wedne, County Commissioners approved a loan that will help pay for the school's water and sewer.

But the biggest contribution comes from someone who doesn't want to be recognized.

It looks like muddy ground right now, but it's a field of dreams for one Wichita man.

TOP Director Janice Smith says her mentor, a man who would rather remain nameless, bought the land and is now donating millions of dollars for a daycare and preschool facility.

A school for kids like Bradon. Mindy Montgomery dropped out of high school to raise her son Bradon. She now represents many of her neighbors, all parents who are struggling financially.

Mindy says, "There's a lot of teenage moms, around here, not just them there's young and old who don't have cars."

The school's mission is to provide the neighborhood with quality daycare and kindergarten readiness at low cost.

Up to 180 children are expected to fill the classrooms. It's also a place Mindy can get her own teaching degree.

She's just not sure who to thank. Janice Smith says, "He wants kids to be the focus, that's purpose of the school for children."

Construction crews will begin working by the start of next month, with hopes to have this school ready by the start of the next school year.

TOP has joined partnerships with several other local organizations and will help subsidize the cost of daycare for low-income families.
