School Bus Crash

Sept. 23 - The Kansas Highway Patrol says three people were taken to Wichita hospitals this afternoon after a Haven District school bus and a tractor-trailer collided south of Hutchinson, in Reno County.

Investigators say six people were hurt. Via Christi Medical Center says its received three patients, all children and all in critical condition. Names and conditions also aren't available. The children were on their way home from the Yoder Charter School.

Authorities say only a few children were on the bus when the wreck happened between 3:30 and 4 p.m. at the intersection of Kansas Highway 96 and McNew Road.

The Reno County Sheriff's office is helping with the investigation.
