Wichita Schools Improve in State Testing

Stay up-to-date with KAKE News:

Grade cards are handed out today for schools across the state, and Wichita is touting their results.

The Kansas Department of Education released the list of schools that meet the Standard of Excellence. You can see the entire list by clicking

31 schools in the Wichita district are on the list this year. That's roughly 1/3 of schools - a major improvement from a year ago.

To receive the standard of excellence, a percentage of students must earn "exemplary" test scores on the assessment -- and a small number of students are allowed to be on what's called academic warning.
