New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp

Red Bean's Bayou Grill
"Cooking with KAKE" Recipe of the Week July 29, 2005
Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp. black pepper

  • 1 tsp. granulated garlic

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. thyme

  • 1/2 tsp. rosemary

  • 1/8 tsp. oregano

  • 2 Tbs. butter

  • 3 each medium yellow onions sliced

  • 1/2 cup seafood stock (tsp. base 1/2 cup water)
  • 1/2 cup amber beer

  • 1 Tbs. Worcestshire sauce

  • 40 each raw peeled and de-veined 26-30 count shrimp
Directions:
Place butter in saute pan and add sliced onions. Saute on medium heat until camerlized (very brown and not burnt).

Add spices and liquid and saute for 20-30 minutes. Add shrimp and continue to cook until shrimp are done. Don't over cook shrimp.
