Citrus Teriyaki Glaze - August 26, 2005

"Cooking with KAKE" - Recipe of the Week
Ingredients:

  • 1 TBS. Sesame Oil

  • 2 Tsp. Minced Garlic

  • 1 Tsp. Minced Ginger

  • 3/4 Cup Orange Juice

  • 1 Cup Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 Tsp. 5-Spice


Slurry

  • 1 TBS. Corn Starch

  • 1 TBS. Water

Directions:

  1. Put Sesame Oil in sauté' pan and begin to heat.

  2. Add Garlic and ginger and lightly sauté'.

  3. Add Orange Juice and bring to a simmer.

  4. Next add Teriyaki Sauce and Sugar and bring to a simmer, hold at simmer for 5 minutes.

  5. Last mix your Corn Starch and Water to make your slurry.

  6. Using a wire whip stir in slowly your slurry until a consistency just thinner than gravy.


I really like toasted sesame seed on top of this sauce. Serves 4
