UPDATE 11:36 p.m.
A malfunctioning siren set off tornado sirens in south Wichita. It began shortly after 11 o'clock Thursday night and lasted for nearly thirty minutes.
Sedgwick County Emergency Management personnel were able to shut down the sirens and locate the one believed to be responsible for causing the system to go off.
No other details as to the cause of the malfunction are available.

The tornado sirens sounding in south Wichita are the result of a malfunction. Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers tell KAKE News there is no emergency, just a malfunction.
Sedgwick County Emergency Management is working on the problem and will hopefully have the issue resolved soon.
