Local students are using their creative talent to help others in need.
Professional artist Ron Steven teamed up with Buckner Elementary 5th graders Thursday morning. The students learned the art of dot style painting to create marine animals. Their instructors said the workshop helped mold their skills.
“The idea is to get the creative juices flowing in these young people,” Steven said. “You never know you may be speaking to the next Picasso or jack Bristow.”
“When I covered my eye, he helped me make another one,“ student Jonas Metcalfe said.
The artwork will be auctioned off and donated to a charity of the students’ choice.
