Wichita, Kan. -- Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer delivered his State of the City Address Tuesday night at City Hall.
The Mayor highlighted some of the accomplishments of the past year and the challenges the city faces.
Mayor Brewer says the local economy is growing again and credited public and private partnerships with helping to add thousands of jobs in the past five years.
The Mayor also spoke about public transportation and says there are plans to improve Wichita's transit system.
"We also know the transit fleet is old. Over the next five years more than 65% of the fleet must be replaced. The ongoing cost of fleet replacement remains a challenge for years ahead." said Brewer.
The mayor says more than $70 million has been invested in improving Wichita roads and bridges. A full transcript is attached to this story.
