The Red Cross has been called in to help Wichita residents after a fire destroyed their apartment Monday morning.
The fire broke out near Lincoln and Woodlawn just before 7 a.m. Crews arrived to find thick smoke showing from the four plex.
Investigators said an electrical malfunction sparked the blaze. Damage is estimated at $55,000.
No one was hurt.

Fire investigators searching for a cause in a east Wichita apartment fire.
Crews were called to the scene in the 6400 block of E. Gilbert around 6:45 a.m. Monday. Firefighters found heavy smoke showing from the four plex.
Officials said first responders made a quick knock down of the fire, and searched the building for occupants. Everyone managed to escape.
"The fire was contained to the middle two of the four plex," said Capt. Mike Wells, Wichita fire department. "The units on the south and north had minor damage."
A damage estimate has not yet been released.
