Wichita police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a restaurant robbery in east Wichita.

It happened at a Taco Bell in the 5800 block of E. Central Monday morning.

Authorities said a manager was hit over the head with an unknown object, as he walked outside to take out the trash. The suspect then forced the employee inside the store at gunpoint.

"He was then forced to open the safe," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita police department. "When he got the cash receipts, he then demanded the keys to the manager's car."

The suspect left the building and drove off in the employees car. Officers later located the abandoned vehicle.

The estimated loss is not known.

The manager refused treatment. Anyone with information in the robbery is asked to call Crimestoppers at 267-2111.
