A man is behind bars accused of taking a toddler during an argument, and driving off with the child.

It happened in the 1800 block of Osage in Derby, around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police chief Robert Lee said a man and a woman got into a disturbance, then the man grabbed the woman's two-year-old boy. He drove away from the scene.

The man was found with the child in a home near Central and Grove shortly after the incident. The child was not hurt.

The man was arrested for kidnapping. Police said he is not the father of the child.
