More than 200 people avoided arrest after a Sedgwick County traffic amnesty program.

The sheriff’s department said 209 traffic-related warrants were cleared during the three-day program. The county will also collect nearly $36,000 in fines.

Authorities said a traffic warrant sweep is planned for the near future.

The 18th Judicial District Court holds daily walk-in appointments for people wanting to clear traffic warrants, or learn more about pending traffic cases. Defendants are asked to report to the District Attorney’s office to meet with an assistant. The walk-in appointments are held on the 5th floor of the Sedgwick County Courthouse from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Visit the Sedgwick County Sherrif’s Department to search for active warrants.
