Kansas Voters Pick Romney Over President Obama

Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Republican challenger Mitt Romney has defeated Democratic President Barack Obama in Kansas.

Romney had been expected to win easily in Tuesday's election in the GOP-leaning state, where a Democrat hasn't prevailed since President Lyndon Johnson in 1964. Neither campaign had a real presence in Kansas.

Democrats had conceded from the outset that Romney would pick up the state's six electoral votes and that Obama was unlikely to match his showing in 2008, when he received almost 42 percent of the vote.
