Some familiar names are on the list of candidates for the vacant city council seat formerly held by Michael O'Donnell. O'Donnell stepped down after being elected to the state senate.
Former city councilman Paul Gray, who left due to term limitations after serving on the council for 8 years. Joshua Blick, who ran against O'Donnell in the general election has also submitted his name for consideration to fill out the rest of the District IV term.
Republican Jeff Blubaugh, who currently serves on the Goddard School Board and ran in the primaries for a seat on the Kansas House, has also asked to be considered for the vacant seat.
The final candidate is Stan Reeser.
All four candidates will be interviewed by the District Advisory Board on January 2, followed by an interview with city council members on January 8. The city will provide more details at a later date.
Whoever the council picks will fill the seat until the April 9 general election.
